Caitlin Machak is a cinematographer and member of the International Cinematographers Guild (IATSE Local 600) who trained at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and FAMU International in Prague. 

On & off-set, she loves music, activism, and nerdy things.

As a 2nd Unit and Additional Cinematographer, Caitlin contributed to the Netflix original series The Iliza Shlesinger Sketch Show and Friends from College, on which she also operated. Caitlin recently operated on Savanah Leaf’s A24 film Earth Mama, and worked her way up through the camera department on projects such as Netflix's House of Cards and HBO's GIRLS, learning from world-renowned cinematographers along the way. 

In the commercial space, Caitlin has collaborated with Wieden+Kennedy on branded campaigns for multiple clients, including Old Spice, Nike and Fisher-Price. She recently lensed the Caitlin Clark Nike social spot that aired moments after Clark became the the new owner of the all-time NCAA scoring record. Her work on the Old Spice "Your Hair by Old Spice Hair Stylers" spot has over 26 million views on YouTube.

For her work on The Tale of the Daughter, she was awarded Best Cinematography at the Alameda International Film Festival, as well as nominated for the Juan Ruiz Anchia Award for Best Cinematography for a Featurette at Idyllwild CinemaFest 2022. She was a finalist of the Altitude Awards in 2022 and 2023 and participated in the ASC Vision Mentorship program in 2019.

Caitlin lensed Ask for Jane, the first narrative feature film about The Jane Collective which Gloria Steinham said “should be seen by every American.” On the festival circuit, her films have screened at Cannes, Hamptons, OutFest, Flickers’ RIIFF, Woodstock, Napa Valley, BendFilm, and HollyShorts to name a few.
